Advanced Electrolysis is used for Permanent Hair Removal  / Repairing Broken Capilarries and Spider Veins

Electrolysis is the only method recognized by the FDA for removing hair permanently.  This fact has been recognized in the medical field and by the public for over one hundred years.  Hirsutism, which is the medical term for “excessive hair”, has been a problem for people throughout history.

In 1875, an ophthalmologist, Dr. Charles E. Michel, discovered electrolysis while removing an ingrown eyelash from a patient.  His continued research into the safe use of electrical current for permanent hair removal helped electrolysis to become what it is today.  Space age technology has refined the equipment now used, but the method is essentially the same.

Superfluous hair is a frustrating problem, and today’s standards of good grooming may be more easily achieved with the help of electrolysis.

How Electrolysis Works:

The hair follicle is a tube-like depression of the skin which contains each hair. The dermal papilla is part of the follicle and controls the growth and development of the hair. Tweezing or waxing will remove the hair shaft, but the dermal papilla still remains. A fine sterilized disposable probe is inserted into the follicle along the hair shaft to the dermal papilla. At the same time, a low level electrical current is sent down the probe destroying the papilla. The loosened hair shaft is then removed. In most cases, two or more treatments to each follicle may be necessary to achieve permanency. Regrowth hair is thinner, finer and weaker with each treatment. Once the dermal papilla has been completely eliminated, there is absolutely no way a hair can be regenerated from that follicle.

There are only three recognized methods of permanent hair removal: Thermolysis, Galvanic and the Blend. Thermolysis is a high frequency current or radio wave.  When it comes into contact with normal body fluids in the hair follicle, it generates a low level heat which cauterizes and destroys the dermal papilla.  Galvanic is a direct current that converts normal body salt and fluids in the hair follicle into a chemical capable of destroying the dermal papilla.  Blend, as the name implies, is a combination of both currents together on the same probe. Thermolysis at a very low level enhances the working action of the galvanic current to produce a highly effective treatment.  The best method will be chosen for you based on a thorough understanding of your skin, its texture, moisture gradient, and sensitivity, as well as the nature of the hair.  With these options, it is possible to customize your treatment for maximum comfort, speed and permanency..

Causes of Superfluous Hair GrowthHeredity: Certain races and families tend to grow more hair than others, and this tendency can be passed on through generations.  Medication: Some medications are known to have side effects of increased hair growth.  Hormones: Hormonal imbalance can be caused by medications, by diseases affecting the hormonal system itself, or by the loss of hormones in the natural aging process  .Stress: In recent years, we have learned that chronic stress can cause an increase in the body’s production of adrenaline, which can stimulate hair growth.  An important fact to remember is no matter what the cause of your particular problem, unwanted hair can be removed permanently.  Normal Hair Growth CycleAll hair, regardless of the area, has different growth cycles. Once the hair is shed, the follicle lapses into a dormant state which lasts from a few weeks to several months.  Since it is only possible to treat visible hairs, regular visits are necessary to treat all newly emerging hairs.  During the course of treatment, the natural growth cycle is sometimes mistaken for regrowth.  Usually it is a hair emerging from dormancy and is treatable for the first time.  Laser Hair Removal Based on my knowledge, and experience of using lasers, I can honestly say that all lasers are not created equal. Different lasers for different hair types and skin types have to be considered in order to achieve hair reduction. I have worked with the 1064 Yag, 775 Alexandrite, 810 Diode. This includes the Epilight and Skin Station which are a heat light source and not considered laser.

Spider Vein / Broken Capillary Treatment Using Advanced Electrolysis

Spider veins are dilated blood vessels which are closer to the skins surface. They can have a threadlike appearance (called telangiectasia) or a spider leg appearance (called spider nevus), and can be red or purple-blue in color. Spider veins can occur anywhere on the body, but the most common places are the legs and face. There is no clear cause, but a number of factors aggravate them, including pregnancy and hormonal changes, temperature changes, aging, heredity, obesity, smoking, and sunbathing.

Spider veins are extremely common, and both men women can develop them as early as in their twenties. The good news is that spider veins are not harmful. There are treatments available privately; one such is advanced electrolysis which is electrodessication using a Radio Frequency Direct Current. Most people associate electrolysis with hair removal, but it can also be used for a range of minor skin blemishes, rosacea and spider or thread veins. For both hair growth and removal of spider veins, the heat generated by an electrical current can be used. The equipment used for thread veins is virtually the same as for hair removal, but the principle and technique is different. An extremely thin sterilized disposable filament is used which is capable of producing a tiny electrical current therefore desiccating the thread veins. There is a small amount of discomfort, but it is not unbearable. The electrical current produces enough heat to cauterize or seal the veins, which prevents any more blood flow through them. Once sealed, the vein is effectively useless, and may be simply reabsorbed, or removed, by the body.

The treatment sessions typically last 15 mintues to one hour, and it is likely that more than one session will be required to ensure complete removal with the first session taking the longest. The removal is permanent and the treated veins will not reoccur once they have been treated. However, treatment will not prevent new spider veins from forming anywhere else, as it is a localized treatment specific to spider veins that have already formed. Following treatment, there may be some redness but this should disappear within ten days. The results are seen instantly.

(complementary spot test)

The cost is $45 per 15 minute session.

                   $85 per 30 minute session.
